Delord XO Armagnac (700ml)

Since 2018, the minimum for XO is ten years old (it was previously just six) and while the exact age isn't stated, this is probably a blend that includes some much older brandies. Typical for Armagnac are the scents of ripe plums, dried apricots, dark chocolate and gingerbread, complexed by hints of tobacco and hazelnut. They're repeated in a medium bodied palate where vanilla, cedary oak, liquorice bullets, cinnamon and pepper warmth carry the finish. The persistence is good, and being neither too fiery, nor too dry or sweet, Delord have created a better than average point of entry for newcomers to the category. It's also a friendly all-rounder, so apart from being enjoyed over ice, after a meal or matched with chocolate, nuts or dried fruits, this has enough body to work in cocktails. 40% Alc./Vol.
