Devils River Barrel Strength Texas Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

An emerging whiskey brand but one that’s made quite a bit of noise since entering the scene back in 2017. Texas Ranger, John Coffee Hays, was one of the first explorers to find Devils River in 1840. The naturally-filtered, iron-free limestone spring water that flows from it is considered the purest water in Texas, as well as a key component in Devils River Bourbon.  Already with a stronghold in its home market, the brand's ascent has been impressive selling well over one hundred thousand cases in twenty nine states to date. Recognized as one of the best American whiskies aged less than ten years by some of the industry’s most discerning judges, it's currently headed by industry veteran, Jeff Colbert together with founder, Mike Cameron.

Other reviews... Fruity and grain forward on the nose, like grape jelly on an English muffin. Blueberry yogurt, mixed berries, sweetened almonds, plus hints of caramel and lemon with water added. The palate is honeyed up front, with gummy candy sweetness, vanilla, and baking spice. Water helps bring out chocolate and cinnamon powder.
