Dos Maderas Luxus Rum (700ml)

Reportedly produced from rums sourced from both Barbados and Guyana, like its younger brother, Dos Maderas PX, this expression is also double aged: Ten years in the Caribbean followed by another 5 years at Williams & Humbert's facilities in Spain where it's finished in barrels that previously held wine at Don Guido.

Tasting note: Burnished copper. High pitched marzipan in the opening pass. 3-4 minutes exposure adds cocoa butter, raisin toast, hazelnut and hints of chico lollies. A medium bodied, semi-sweet profile suggesting milk chocolate, caramel fudge, vanilla and raisin cake. Excellent sweet-dry balance. Finishes with late rancio and marzipan in the aftertaste. An elegant sipper in the tradition of lighter-bodied Venezuelan rums. 40% Alc./Vol.
