One of ten collectable whiskies chosen to portray Macbeth’s Household in this collectable series inspired by the Scottish play (there are actually 42 whiskies within the entire collection). Here, Macbeth’s loyal armourer is imagined as a fresh, herbaceous single malt from Ardmore with an outturn of 3200 bottles. Maturation in casks previously filled with heavily peated Islay whisky give an extra layer of smokiness to this characteristically mineral make. Expect pine needles, woody herbs and a lingering note of chocolate mint. The artwork was created by noted illustrator and national treasure Sir Quentin Blake. 52.5% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... citrusy notes and medicinal peat, followed by black pepper and mustard notes. Hints of coffee beans. Sweet oak and radishes. Lemons, brine and hints of burnt herbs, always with a savoury edge. Finish: rather long, on similar notes. Pepper, lemon, brine. A few herbacious touches as well. This almost feels like a blended malt, combining the vegetal Ardmore style with a bit of medicinal Islay character. Overall a pleasant middle-aged peaty dram. - whiskynotes.be
