Gelas De Bortoli Black Noble Finish 16 Year Old Single Cask Armagnac (700ml)

A 16 year old Bas Armagnac which has been matured in casks that previously held "Black Noble", a dessert wine produced by De Bortoli made from botrytis affected grapes. The juice is fortified and aged for several years in old oak resulting in a wine with aromas and flavours redolent of coffee, anise and toffee.

Tasting note: The pretty topaz colour is perfectly clear. Aromas of balsamic and oak shavings blow off to reveal restrained notes of apricot, dates, raw honey, liquorice bullets and spent oak barrel. Vibrant off-dry entry; flavours of prunes, cinnamon and clove; thins out at the finish which also accents warming spices and bitter cocoa. Finally almost rum-like as this rebounds with hints of dried banana, raw sugar and marzipan in the aftertaste. 47.5% Alc./Vol. 320 bottles.
