Not to be confused with Glenlivet's "Distiller's Reserve" which is also labelled as a triple cask release, "Rare Cask" is the next step up in the distillery's Travel Retail series. Available since May 2019 in a sleek presentation and released in numbered batches, it's defined by a higher proportion of ex-sherry oak that brings extra depth - hence the descriptor "Rich & Spicy" is prominently featured on the label. Other casks used include American white oak and 'Traditional' casks. 40% Alc./Vol

Notes from the producers... Nose: Subtle fruit notes of peaches in syrup, with a hint of ginger spiciness. Taste: Perfectly balanced, with warm, fruity, orange marmalade flavours, and subtle notes of vanilla and liquorice. Finish: Long, with hints of spiciness.
