Golden Horse Musashi Pure Malt Japanese Whisky (700ml)

A pure malt made by Toa Shuzo, whose whiskies are not easily found outside of Japan. The company was run by the Akuto family who started Hanyu distillery in 1941 and in the early 2000s, with Ichiros Akutos help, kick started Chichibu.

Tasting note: Named after a famous Samurai warrior. Bright gold. The grassy-fruity bouquet is fairly pedestrian but very attractive. Hints of pineapple? Banana cake? Super soft, with a nicely harmonised malty-fruity combination and well defined vanilla / red apple flavours. An elegant, fresh, lighter styled blend that also comes handsomely packaged. 43% Alc./Vol.
