Alfonso Oloroso Sherry is produced from the second pressing of Palomino grapes to allow for more structure and body. Following fermentation to roughly 11% alcohol the wine is fortified to 18% alcohol where it then enters the Alfonso solera. The barrels are only filled two thirds of the way to allow for intentional oxidation. The wine remains in barrel for an average time of 8 years as part of the traditional Solera system. Alfonso Oloroso is golden amber in colour, flavourful and structured on the palate, and features walnuts, vanilla, and spiced notes with a long and complex finish.

Other Reviews....
Tangy aromas of pecan nuts, caramel and gingerbread. Dry and flavorful on the medium-bodied palate with lots of pine nut and walnut characters. Pretty intense, but also linear and long. Drink now.

Shimmering with rich, iridescent complexity and nuance. Pecans, dried rose petals and coffee bean drawing into an achingly long finish that is electric with energy. Dried citrus peel. Cloves. A kiss of sepia sweetness on the finish. Stunning.
