Pure Gin is dominated by juniper (50%) and coriander (35%), enhanced with the bright zest of fresh oranges and subtle hints of angelica root, cassia bark, liquorice root, orris root plus other classic botanicals. In short, a traditional London Dry to rival industry giants while preserving the signature viscosity that sets Hartshorn apart. Our tasting found juniper and potpourri on the nose, set in a mineral and cream base; the palate equally soft, round and creamy, backed up by juniper, subtle pastis, citrus, pepper and dried herbs with an unexpectedly spicy finish. Standalone it's a fine gin with the mouthfeel and presence of a quality vodka, but the keynotes could easily get lost in mixing. Over-dilution tends to reduce the botanicals and accent the creaminess of the whey based spirit. 40% Alc./Vol.
