Heartwood A Serious Whisky Cask Strength Vatted Australian Malt Whisky (500ml)

Arguably one of Heartwood's quirkier compilations, casks 'Adams AD295' and 'Launceston C-001' were sourced from Adams and Launceston Distilleries respectively. It saw the bottler step into the world of "serious peat" with their first fully integrated peated whisky. Just how peaty this actually is we can't say, but at the time of its release in October 2020 it was considered a little avante-garde by Australian industry standards. Said Jim Murray, "the smoke makes a comforting bed on which the sherry can lie... If it is supine or frivolous malt you are after, look elsewhere: this is serious whisky."
