Isawa Blended Japanese Whisky (500ml)

Isawa is produced at the Mondu Shuso distillery located at the town of Isawa, in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan. Started in 1952, it's a well established 'producer of wine being located in one of the main Japanese wine regions, but also has a long history of micro-distilling. Their first whisky was produced in 1967. This blend was matured exclusively in Bourbon casks.

Tasting note: Bright gold. Slightly sulphured opening includes subdued aromas of pickled onion, muesli bar and cocoa. Second pass finds parchment, straw and assorted grains. A delicate entry leads into a fruity yet dry, vanilla and cocoa laced profile. Ends pleasantly warm, vaguely grassy and short. 40% Alc./Vol.
