The second addition to the Johnnie Walker Explorers' Club Series - "The Gold Route" was launched in 2013 as a Travel Retail exclusive.

Developed as a 'luxury' whisky, Walker's Master Blender, Jim Beveridge describes this as an, “exotic mix of bananas, mango and pitaya,” with a taste of “pineapples, guava, passionfruit and raisins, all balanced perfectly by deep charred peaty notes in keeping with the signature smoky Johnnie Walker flavour”.
