Kilchoman 100% Islay 7th Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Distilled in 2010 and bottled 2017 after maturation in x Bourbon casks. Bright pale gold. Typically fresh Kilchoman; almost a blanco mezcal-like edge and less peat input than you might expect. Aromas of oak shavings, menthol and camphor gradually yield to a sweeter undercurrent of cocoa, cream sponge cake and semi-ripe banana. Near perfect delivery: Beautifully rounded with maritime-freshness fanning out in a controlled white pepper, brine and lanolin burst. Effortlessly glides through the mouth. Seems leaner than some previous editions, but every bit as appealing. Hard to believe it’s 50%.
