Le Gin de Christian Drouin Pira Gin (700ml)

Pira is made according to the same principles as the original version of Guillaume Drouin's Le Gin; each botanical is macerated and re-distilled separately in order to optimise the extraction of aromas. The Perry pear takes centre stage in this edition, along with juniper, vanilla, lemon, black pepper and Iris root. A small pear with a subtle aroma combining acidity and tannins, it is the other emblematic fruit of Normandy. In the Pays d'Auge, pear trees are generally planted on the edge of apple orchards. These long-lived and quite large trees can reach more than 15 metres high, with deep roots, forming excellent windbreaks for more fragile apple orchards.

Pira gin offers aromas and flavours of white fruits, black pepper and iris and can be enjoyed neat or as a gin and tonic, with a thin slice of pear or elderflower as a garnish. 42% Alc./Vol.
