Leyenda del Milagro 100% Agave Silver Tequila (700ml)

Milagro, which means ‘miracle’ in Spanish, was founded in 1997 by two Mexican entrepreneurs who successfully built the brand in their native country and the USA (the two largest Tequila markets). Famed whisky producer, William Grant & Sons has recently acquired a 51% stake in the company. Agaves are harvested about 8 to 12 years after planting, and the juice is extracted from the heart of the plant by roasting in clay ovens made from the estate’s volcanic soil. The fermented juice is triple distilled in small batches.

Tasting note: Virtually clear, with a very pale yellow / green blush. Generous bouquet offers vibrant, salty, herbal agave characteristics with a subtle black pepper note - a straightforward blanco aroma that nonetheless shows little diminution after five minutes which is a plus. The palate gets full points for smoothness, but it’s also on the lighter side and lacking the intensity and freshness of the nose. The flavours repeat the aromatics and conclude a little short and flat. 40% Alc/Vol.
