Manly Spirits Coastal Stone Port Cask Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

New for 2022 is this robust Manly expression matured in ex-Port/Tawny casks from Seppeltsfield. The full size French and American oak barrels were reformed by a Tasmanian cooperage into shaved and charred 100L casks. All casks were ‘first fill’. Easily the biggest whiskey in the current Manly line up, this boasts a gorgeous polished copper colour and a thick chewy profile, the malt riddled with intense fruit'n'nut chocolate flavours. Uncut, the bittersweet attack is slightly off-key - especially at the finish where more bitter chocolate notes enter. Calls for water. 58% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the producers... NOSE: Whole bunch fruit with a sweet vanilla nose. PALATE: Sweet plums and a baked dark berry pie with a soft caramel & buttery outlay, leading to an elegant but robust red currant essence. FINISH: Hot and crisp to begin, leading to a long bittersweet finish.
