Martell Cordon Bleu Intense Heat Cask Finish Cognac (700ml)

Released in November 2016, Martell Intense Heat Cask Finish utilises a first-of-its-kind finishing process for the brand, with the company describing it as “its most ground-breaking Cognac to date". Originally available at key travel retail locations throughout Asia, we have secured a small volume for Australian fans of Martell.

As with the regular Cordon Bleu, this is also assembled from over one hundred eaux-de-vies (primarily Borderies), however the final spirit is finished in barrels that have been extra charred. The process leaves the barrel’s staves ‘charcoaled’, taking on the appearance of a crocodile’s scales. The spirit cycles in and out of the wood infusing nutty, spicy notes as well as vanilla, coffee, cinnamon and fudge (no, it's not extra spicy or 'hot', which is where some people get confused by the title). The deep blue box is embossed to replicate the crocodile leather-like pattern that results from the toasting method, with flashes of gold creating the illusion of glowing embers. 40% Alc./Vol.
