Nardini Aquavite Bianco Grappa (700ml)

A grape pomace grappa from the large Nardini firm. This is Italy's best-selling premium grappa.

Tasting note: [50% ABV tasted 2011] Clear. Moderate opening aromas include beeswax and marzipan dissipating after a minute or two to reveal a fruity edge that is pear / sweet grapes combining with hints of cocoa and spice. Clean, soft entry. Mid palate is focused with a seamlessly integrated burst of semi sweet, pavlova-like flavours. Melt in your mouth texture. Excellent balance at high strength, the 50% spirit is astonishingly soft imparting only a pleasant spicy warmth. Finishes with pavlova, grape and cocoa, medium dry, clean and moderately fresh. A superb after dinner drink to accompany coffee or chocolate. 93 points
