Nolet's Silver Gin (700ml)
A new 'contemporary' style from one of the most highly regarded distillers in Holland, Nolet (the 10th generation producer behind famous brands like Ketel One Vodka). Instead of a traditional juniper accent, Nolet's Silver Dry is fruit and floral focussed (expect Turkish rose, peach, and raspberry). No doubt intended as a bridge for vodka lovers, it's also handsomely packaged in a weighty emerald green bottle.
Tasting note: Clear. Soft, floral scents with seamlessly integrated aromas of lemon mousse, rose petal, Turkish Delight and hints of lavender. Juniper is indiscernible. Entry is light, with oregano and subtle juniper-like flavours developing; mid palate ups the spices adding an unusual Turkish Delight, fruit sorbet aspect that carries through to the aftertaste. Excellent mouthfeel and balance. Completely defies conventions. Will work as a standalone sipper moreso than G&Ts. 47.6% Alc.Vol.Other reviews... Clear with a faint nickel gray cast. Bright aromas of rose water, floral soap, and cream pie with a vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a long, juicy fruit gum, juniper, and rose sorbet driven finish. A vibrantly floral and feminine gin that will make suave cocktails.
