ABV: 42%
Produced from sugar cane syrup (rather than molasses) on a short column still, after initial maturation in Guatemala, this rum was transferred to France for four months ageing in x-Cognac casks at Cognac Ferrand.

Retasted 2017: A fruity style with lots of tropical notes from pineapple to caramelised banana and hints of grassy freshness. Showing outstanding integration, length and balance, this glides across the tongue finishing with dried fruits and confectionary in a prolonged aftertaste. Value buy.

First tasted 2014: Deep bright gold. Intrigues with heavy and dense aromas including melted butter, cut grass and crushed ant, developing additional notes of rock lollies, dried coconut and cocoa after exposure. Silky, creamy entry follows through to a sweet yet fresh mid palate featuring marzipan, raisins and golden syrup. Finish is clean, dry, vibrant with warming spices, vanilla, caramel, cut grass and cocoa lingering. Superb. 42% Alc./Vol. 95 points
