Collectors should keep an eye out for new releases sourced from "The Rare Cask Society".
Already near sold out, this first edition is from a woefully meagre outturn of just 100 bottles, drawn from the last remaining cask from a closed distillery in South Australia.
Investing aside, those who love their whiskies at maximum throttle should find plenty of thrills here.

Other reviews... [tasted without water] Aged 5 years in American oak Port casks. Deep polished brass colour is viscous with thick tears. Fabulous depths to the bouquet with heady vanillas, plum pudding, raisin cake, chile chocolate and caramel fudge. A massive malt attack with the early rush of sugars eclipsed by a bittersweet surge. Powdery tannins fan into the finish. Red liquorice and caramel fudge in the aftertaste. Fierce, but tamed with water. Non chill filtered. 66% Alc./Vol.

For the Whisky Art Project, individual casks are personally sourced and selected from a partner distillery, then sampled and reviewed. Project artists are then invited to sample the casks themselves and design the labels of each release based on their experience and taste of the whisky.
