Savart L'Accomplie Extra Brut Champagne
Fred Savart is one of the most engaging and energetic vignerons currently in Champagne. Based in the village of Ecueil where most of his holdings are located, Fred also farms a handful of vines across into Villiers-aux-Noeuds, along with most recently accessing plots in Le Mesnil and Oger. His wines are largely based on Pinot Noir, with a smaller amount of Chardonnay, and while initially there was a focus on fermentation in stainless steel, more increasingly his wines are raised in barriques and demi-muids. Each of his wines are born out of inspiration and intuition rather than any sort of set formula, and are routinely some of the best expressions of terroir viewed through the vagaries of vintage.
L'Accomplie is 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay from both Ecueil and Villers-aux-Noeuds. The base vintage makes up 70% of the total blend with the other 30% coming from reserve wine of the two previous vintages. The wine is aged in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel, and dosage is 5g/L.
Other Reviews....
Based on the 2019 vintage, with reserve wines from 2018, the latest rendition of Savart's NV Extra Brut Premier Cru L'Accomplie opens in the glass with notions of pear, toasted almonds, dried white flowers, clear honey and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise, with a vibrant core of fruit, chalky structure and a mouthwatering finish, it's showing well. Drink 2022 - 2033.

The NV Extra Brut L’Accomplie is a Champagne of real precision and class. Dried apricot, chamomile, crushed flowers, sage, mint and white pepper give this weightless, translucent Champagne tons of nuance. All the elements are so nicely delineated. The 4 grams per liter of dosage is expertly judged. The purity of the flavors it just striking. This is one of the most precise wines in the entire range. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: February, 2022. Drink 2022-2032.

This is very fine, very crisp and super mineral on the nose with red flowers and red fruits; very fresh. Has an open palate, mouth-filling elegant red fruits with a fine, focused finish. A non-vintage Champagne based on 2014 and 2015. 20% chardonnay and 80% pinot noir. Drink in a fresh phase, now to 2022.
