Talisker 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - Annual 2021 Release
The stop-start thirty year old has had several iterations since the early 2000s when it debuted. It's now being re-released in small quantities after the last bottling in 2017. The 2021 release comes matured in American oak and limited to 3216 bottles globally. Tempered by a lengthy ageing, it's described as the most elegant and complex expression in the range, retaining Talisker's hallmark notes of pepper and smoke but in a softer and subtler way. 48.5% Alc./Vol.
Notes from the producers... Nose: Mild and unusually fruity, fading quickly into lush seaweed with charred sticks. Becoming soft and very slightly waxy or creamy, like fudge. Taste: The smoke is immediate and dry with creamy oak. Almond milk and light, sweet stone fruits emerge, joined by a trace of salt. Finish: Long, gently warming, with a lingering maritime aftertaste and just a white pepper tingle on the tongue in place of that chilli ‘catch’
