The Fins Bois appellation cushions the growth areas of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies. In some circles, Vaudon is considered the undisputed master in the region (along with Francois Voyer). With a history of distilling dating back to 1771, that's not surprising. Pierre Vaudon is the current Maître de Chai, employing traditional Charentais distillation and maturing his cognacs in both loose and tight grain oak. The Fine Rare is aged for around 2-3 years, aimed at capturing the appellation's fruitier, naturally sweet eaux-de-vie. 43% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... Nose: Floral and delicate, with subtle notes of jasmine and even ripe banana. The bouquet is gentle, oscillating between floral, fruity, and seductive notes. Palate: A soft and silky attack on the palate, which develops into notes of sweet pear that last for a number of minutes after tasting. It is a pure, pleasant selection of notes. - cognac-expert.com
