Virginia Gentleman 90 Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey (700ml)
“One hell of a whiskey where complexity is the foundation stone. 89 points.” - Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2006
Virginia Gentleman is made in Fredericksberg, which is located in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. During the eighteenth century, Virginia was a major producer of whiskey. George Washington himself, after leaving the office, lived in Mount Vernon, Virginia and made some purportedly very popular “hooch”. Today the Smith Bowman distillery, producers of Virginia Gentleman, remains the only surviving distillery in the state. Aged six years, Virginia Gentleman is a slightly spicy and quite sweet corn whiskey. Charmingly packaged, the gold lettering and edges on the label frame an idyllic fox hunt scene painted by the English artist, John Sortorius (1793), from the private collection of the Bowman family.
