Waubs Harbour Stout Cask Limited Edition Single Malt Australian Whisky (500ml)

Already sold out at the distillery, as you'd expect from the title, this is a big, rich, chocolatey single malt, matured in ex-Tawny French Oak then finished in American Oak ex-Stout casks from Bicheno Beer Co. The tawny from the cask brings soaked sultanas and a real buttery sweetness while the stout brings an opposing bitterness, balanced by the chocolate bite. It's like Old Gold chocolate in a glass! 58% Alc./Vol.

Notes from the producers... NOSE: Big juicy prunes, chocolate malt, salted caramel, almond, cashew and toasted coconut. PALATE: Caramel candy. Sweet plump sultana, malty centre leading to a dark chocolate, cherry and coconut back palate. Reminding me of Old Gold chocolate in a glass. A balance of bitter sweet. FINISH: A long, rich port cream with a lingering reoccurring chocolate coconut note.
