Tawny & Ruby Port

Unlike Vintage Port, Tawny Port is ready to drink as soon as it's bottled. It won't improve further in your cellar. Tawnies are usually matured for about 5- 12 years, and the longer they're left in barrel, the more redness is oxidised out turning them 'tawny' (i.e.- onion brown). In theory, the longer Tawny Port is aged in cask, the more stable it will be when you open it. Ruby Ports are young, fresh and fruity wines for early drinking. We also occasionally stock White Port, hard to find, but delicious served chilled as a long drink with tonic water, ice and a twist of lemon.
